Exploring the Intersection of Art and Change
Artivistance Projects: Getting to the Art of the Matter
At Artivistance, we believe that the arts can spark change, heal hearts, and build connections. Our programs are designed to engage communities and inspire creativity in response to social, societal, and relational issues. Each program fosters collaboration and offers a platform for individuals and collectives to use artistic expression to make a tangible impact on the world.
Pilot Program: Summer 2025
Stages for Change

We are excited to announce the upcoming pilot program scheduled for Summer 2026. This will serve as a key launch point for our vision of using the arts to drive social change. We are actively seeking a community collaborator to partner with us on this exciting initiative.
We are looking to collaborate with a community—whether a school, organization, or local group—that would benefit from a program designed for youth and/or adults to creatively address issues pertinent to their community. The goal of the pilot program is to bring together participants to engage the arts as a tool for creative expression, dialogue, and problem-solving around the challenges the community faces.
If your school, organization, or community is interested in participating or collaborating on this impactful program, we encourage you to reach out to us. This collaboration will allow us to create a tailored arts experience that speaks directly to the needs of the community and promotes healing, growth, and positive change.
Stay tuned for more updates as we refine and develop this exciting new initiative!
Stages for Change
Stages for Change is a community-based program where we collaborate with schools, organizations, collectives, and local groups to co-create original theatre projects. These projects aim to explore, address, and share the social and societal issues that are impacting the communities involved.
In Stages for Change, the arts—especially theatre—become a tool for conversation, reflection, and action. Participants engage in the process of creating plays, performances, or skits that highlight issues such as mental health, public health, education, race relations, gender equality, poverty, and other pressing concerns. Through collaborative storytelling, participants become agents of social change through performance.
Key Program Elements:
- Working closely with community members, schools, and local organizations to identify and explore key societal issues.
- Co-creating original theatrical works that bring awareness to the community’s challenges and provide a platform for open dialogue.
- Bringing people together to explore these issues in a safe, collaborative space, where art is used as a tool for both expression and healing.
- Incorporating all participants into the creative process, from writing scripts to performing, allowing everyone to have a voice in the production.
This program not only brings about awareness but also encourages action, inviting individuals to think critically about their roles in society and how they can contribute to positive change.
Let Freedom Sing
Let Freedom Sing is an innovative program that brings together students from Ghana and the United States to create a shared artistic experience. Using song, rap, and poetry, students will work with musicians and singers to craft pieces that address important social, societal, and relational themes.
The beauty of this program lies in its focus on cross-cultural collaboration. Students in Ghana and the U.S. will not only co-create music, but also build bridges between their cultures. Through shared experiences, these students will form meaningful connections, exchange cultural stories, and come together to use the power of music and words to address critical issues affecting their communities.
Program Structure:
- Virtual Collaboration: Students from both countries will meet virtually at the start, middle, and end of the program, creating a space for continuous collaboration and connection across distances. These virtual sessions will allow students to brainstorm, co-write lyrics, and provide feedback on each other’s work.
- Cultural Exchange: Throughout the program, students will share their personal stories, experiences, and cultural backgrounds, fostering mutual respect and understanding.
- Music and Art Creation: The cohort will co-create songs, raps, and poems over music that highlight significant social themes such as freedom, justice, identity, and unity. Students will collaborate closely with professional musicians, singers, and mentors to guide their creative process.
- Virtual Listening Party: At the end of the program, students will come together for a virtual listening party where they will share their finished compositions. This event will allow students to celebrate their collective work, reflect on their journey, and connect with their global peers.
By “singing for freedom”, this program empowers young people to be voices for change(s) they wish to see in the world, while breaking down cultural barriers and fostering global solidarity through the [love] language of music.
